Minnie had her one year checkup yesterday, and let me tell you, that girl was all over the place! We had to wait for about 45 minutes before we even got into our room and by then Minnie had pretty much given herself a tour of the whole clinic and said "hi" to everyone there. Robert tried to get her interested in coloring to keep her still for a minute, but she ended up just trying to toss around the whole box of crayons. It was hilarious and the other girls coloring were none too pleased.
Min is still large and in charge, just the way we like it.
Height: 31.5 inches (98th percentile)
Weight: 24.75 lbs (93rd percentile)
Head Circumference: 19.5 inches (100th percentile)
Our doctor always tells us how advanced and amazing Minnie is, and we'd like to think so too (of course, because we're her parents) but we have started to wonder whether he tells this to all the parents of his patients. Who doesn't like a doctor who tells them their child is a mini-genius? In spite of this, I sincerely love our pediatrician. During every appointment he gets down on the ground and plays games with Minnie or does little magic tricks. She loves him. She had to get four shots this go around and was about as sad as I've ever seen her until she discovered how delicious the sucker the nurse gave her was. It quickly eased her sorrows and she was her chubby, happy self again. I'm so grateful she's so healthy and strong. I can't bare the thought of her losing that big pot belly and her juicy thighs, but I'm sure she won't be too sad to have lost them once she's 15.
Well, it appears that she's got plenty of room in her skull for her genius brain. Ha ha!! Poor thing got the Mecham noggin. Can't wait till you guys get here!
