two years

As of yesterday, Robert and I have been married two years. We have known each other for 14. Honestly, it is hard for me to even remember a time when Robert wasn't a part of my life, which I love.

We arrived home from the east coast late Saturday night and went to our ward yesterday morning. It was so fun to see everyone. One of my favorite parts of the day was surprising my brother and his wife, Megan, at his birthday get together at their house. They thought we weren't getting home until today and Megan literally screamed when she saw us sneak in the back door. I have missed them so much. We spent nearly the whole day reconnecting with friends and family, which was perfect.

I hadn't planned much for the day because I had initially thought we'd be driving, but Bobster had a little trick up his sleeve. Between visits with friends and family he told me he wanted to stop by the house for a minute. I told him that Minnie and I would just hang out in the front yard until he was ready to go. He came back out five minutes later to tell me that I had to come in and look at the bathtub because it had rusted or something while we were gone. I was seriously concerned and quickly came in. When he told me that I needed to come through the kitchen I knew something was up. He walked me out onto the back deck where I found this little set up...

Little sneak! I instantly felt terrible for a) not doing anything myself and b) being annoyed with him for making us come home. He had planned it out a month or so ago and had his sister, Becca, in cahoots with him. It was a nice little surprise, especially since I hadn't been planning on doing anything special. We'll likely do something a little more exciting this weekend, but this was such a nice surprise.

I am so blessed to have a husband who cares more about me and Minnie more than he does about himself. I trust him wholly and love him with such a real love. We have such a wonderful life together, and most of that is due to him. I love you Robert. Here's to a million more years together!
