Welp, we are back to real life now.
Robert and I spent all morning out doing yard work just to prove it.
In fact, he's still out there sweating away as I relax in the house and eat Joe-Joe's and milk.
Bless him.
Looking at these pictures makes me miss our time in California, but it's also good to be back to the real world, especially since Robert got a JOB!
He still has about two weeks until he starts so we are just soaking up our time together and getting things done until he's nine to five'n.
Our last couple days in California were lovely.
We spent lots of time at the beach, went to dinner at Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier, drove down to San Diego to go meander around Balboa Park and later took the bridge to Coronado Island and rented a bike to ride through the loveliest neighborhoods.
Also, as you can see, the little apartment we rented for the trip was quite the charmer.
Very kitschy/cottagey. We loved it.
We drove home on Mother's Day and I was greeted by a bouquet of flowers on my seat that Robert had snuck in the night before.
I love that man.
So although I miss California, it's also pretty exciting to be back in Salt Lake because we are now confident we will be here for a few more years.
The day after we got back we started gardening, bought a little pool for Minnie and purchased a year zoo pass...all things I've been aching to do if we were to stay.
It feels good to be settled and I am really looking forward to this summer.
Backyard bbq's, lounging in the pool, lots of fresh veggies, and a new little babe on top of it all.
It's going to be grand!
i could cry. so glad you are home. even more glad you are staying around this neck of the woods. and an extra heap of glad you got a zoo pass. the green light for me to jump on the band wagon. so happy for you guys!! what a lovely little getaway.
