making stuff

i really like profile silhouettes and have been trying to find some cool ones to use as artwork in our house. i am not an artist by nature so i was not ready to attempt drawing some freehand. i found these antique looking samples from etsy off of this blog and got to work. here's what i made.



i ended up just printing out the samples and cutting them out and then using acrylic paint to brush them onto the canvas. i didn't tape down the stencils very well so it's a miracle they turned out as well as they did.

side note: yes, this is our pink bathroom...the only room with color (and a lot of it) in our apartment. this picture will explain the subtitle to our blog. i will post a picture of our miniature sink shortly.
