min's first taste of snow {literally}

On Thursday we had ourselves a legitimate snow storm here in Utah.
It's October. What the heck?!
That's Utah for you.
Minnie and I were eating breakfast in the kitchen nook when some big flakes really started to fly.
Suddenly Minnie turned in her high chair, stared out the window and then pointed excitedly toward the snow.
She then looked at me in utter amazement like, "What in the world is that, Mom?!"
It didn't even occur to me that Minnie had never ever really experienced snow...at least not vertically.
So the hats, coats and gloves went on and out into the storm we went.

At first Min didn't know what to do. Could she step on it? Touch it?
In about two seconds she had finger-fulls of it melting in her mouth and she was tromping back and forth in it.
She loved the way it felt under her feet and loved even more that she could EAT it...right of the ground!
Every kids dream.

I am in love with moments like these as a mom.
It is amazing to watch Minnie discover new things and to see how she reacts the situations I have become so used to after 26 years of life.
It makes me see the world with fresh eyes, and I am grateful to her for that.
But Utah, let's get real and wait until Christmas to really snow...or at least Thanksgiving please.
