this year's halloween get up

Isn't Minnie's face priceless in that first picture?
The last two years we have based our costumes off of what we can find for Minnie, and all in all, that method has worked out pretty well for us.
This year I found a little skunk costume for $10 at Goodwill and it was in really good condition.
It fit Minnie perfectly and she looked adorable in it...obviously.
The funny thing is skunks are one of my biggest fears. They were all over the place back east and I seriously dreaded walking around at night because I was 100% sure we were going to get sprayed.
We never did. I am a big baby.

Bob and I put these Animal Control costumes together about one hour before we were supposed to be at a Halloween party this weekend. They're far from top notch, but people got the picture.
Speaking of Halloween parties...the party we attended at my friend's house was so much fun.
She and her husband just bought a house in the Milcreek area and it is darling.
The older I get, the more grateful I am for low key, intimate parties.
We ended up stopping by my friend Shelly's party at about 11 that night, after our low key party, and my head about exploded.
May I just tell you how grateful I am to no longer be single?
We squeezed our way through the front door of a totally packed house with loads of single 20-somethings checking each other out and being obnoxious and all I wanted to do was turn around and run straight for the door.
I didn't even like those kind of parties very much when I was single, but going there with a husband and a baby reaffirmed to me how wonderful it is to no longer have to endure those torturous events.
If you are single, my strongest apologies.

I am doubtful we will be donning these costumes again this October.
We do plan to take Min out trick-or-treating for a minute this year for the first time so she gets to toddle around as a skunk for a few more hours.
She loves the costume. The first time we put it on her she ran around the house laughing.
She seriously looks like a little animal from the back. It's hilarious.
One of my favorite parts about it is when she just has the head part on she looks like a creature from Narnia or something. Am I right, or am I right? (especially with that face on the left)

Happy Halloween to one and all!

  2. Laura! For reals?
You did such a good job on the costumes this year! We too coordinate around the little one's costume ( and the fact that I can't get Conor to dress up). Great job, love that little Min!
