a few of my favorite things {pregnancy style}

I'm not really one of those people that "must have" certain things. I just find something that works and stick with it.
But when it comes to being pregnant, I have become a diva.
Well, kind of.

If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant, here are my "must-haves" {for what they're worth. everyone seems to like different things when they're pregnant so take it with a grain of salt}:

1. American Eagle jeggings - I am not usually much of a fan of American Eagle, but I love, love, love their jeggings. I also hate maternity pants so these have become my go to's. They are super comfortable and still really flattering. Get them a size bigger than you'd normally wear so you can ride them below your belly. They also have a million different sizes and lots of them are in their clearance section online now for an additional 40% off!!! Do it. You can thank me later.

2. Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter - I didn't get a single stretch mark {thank you genetics?} with Minnie and I believe it could be my religious use of this stuff. I haven't been quite as religious this time around, but as of yet, still no stretch marks. And even if you do get them, this stuff seriously cures tight skin itchiness. I love it.

3. A water bottle - I am always, always thirsty while pregnant and an investment in a good water bottle has been heaven. The kind with the straw is also great if you have a little already because they can drink from it too without spilling.

4. Good chapstick - My lips are perma-chapped since being pregnant so having something good on hand that lasts a long time is essential for me. Softlips almost always does the trick.

5. A good maxi dress/maxi skirt - I think I will have bought a thousand maxi dresses by the end of my pregnancy. They make you feel like you're wearing nothing {my dream come true} and are really flattering too. I don't like maternity ones because I feel like they make me look bigger so I just get one a little larger than my normal size to give room for the belly. They have amazing ones at Forever 21 that are really cheap and some really great ones at Ross too...also really cheap.

6. A slouchy wrap sweater - These things are awesome for being comfortable and look great with leggings and a t-shirt. The ones I have are a little tighter on my arms and back {emphasizing my small parts} and kind of disguise my belly. I just like having a little something to disguise my bump every now and again.

7. A place for good fruit - All I can think about is sugar lately. The only thing that tides me over from eating a pan of brownies is eating a boat load of fruit. Sprouts Farmer's Market in SLC is the bomb. On Wednesdays they have the most amazing deals on fruits and veggies, and they are incredible. If you're in Utah, you've gotta check it out.

8. An awesome pair of flats - A good pair of flats will be your best friend. Find some that are colorful and fun if you can so you don't feel totally blah. You can find some really great quality ones on Asos and at Nordstrom, but some of my very favorites are from H&M. They are comfortable and have lasted me forever.

So there you have it. My "diva" list as I like to call it. If you have other things you've loved during pregnancy, please share!
This girl could use a few more tips and tricks to feel a little more comfortable.

  1. Be religious with mama bee!!! I didn't get any with lincoln, but you stretch further with your second and you can't really see them until after the baby comes out and you got all this loose, wrinkly skin. Lather yourself!!!!
