reusing {in honor of earth day}

Ok, so it wasn't really in honor of Earth Day (which is Monday, btw) but this had to be done.
I got this huge dress/skirt from a clothing exchange a few months ago, and I really, really loved the fabric.
The fit of the skirt...not so cute.
So, I found this tutorial for a simple little dress and decided it was time.
I have not sewn a full article of clothing in probably 10 years and I was completely intimidated.
However, even after my fair share of mistakes, somehow I produced (albeit imperfect) a little dress for Min.

It's a little big for her, but I like the loose and comfy feel of it and as you can see, she's pretty pleased with it too.
This little experiment has now given me some courage in the sewing department and I'm excited to see what else I can whip together.
And I may or may not have made about four more of this same dress in different sizes and fabrics...just because.
I guess I'm hooked or something.
