apple pickin'

This afternoon we went apple picking with a few of our buds.
The weather was glorious (we overdressed...you tricked us again, Utah fall) and I was aching to peel off every layer. The sun just felt so good.
The wee ones went around filling their bags with (mostly rotten) apples, and ended up throwing them or stealing them from each other.
Ahhhh, toddlerhood.
We were a little late in the season for apple picking, but we were able to find some good, healthy apples in the middle of the trees at the back of the orchard.
I'd never gone apple picking before so it was a lot of fun.
I think we'll have to add it to our list of October activities for next year.
And nearly 2 1/2 lbs of apples for $1.50? Can't beat it.

Have I ever told you how much I love watching Min interact with her little friends?
It's so funny to see how they respond to each other.
Generally most interactions end with some sort of push or hit, but they've got to learn right?
It's hilarious how they can be the best of friends and the worst of enemies within a matter of 30 seconds.
Min is kind of a bruiser, so I like when she hangs out with other bruisers.
They all give each other a little taste of their own medicine.
I'm hoping the whole "don't hit or push because it hurts" finally sinks in.

And on a side note, Minnie has been fighting her naps lately and it's killing me.
Right now as I speak (*type*) she's singing away in  her crib, probably throwing all the blankets and pillows overboard.
Let's just pray we can nip this little bad habit in the bud real quick because the girl needs her naps.
Badly.

Happy fall!!
